that kepco did the stone work i didnt know that.
The teaching is starting to pick up we put a
girl on date the other day she is way solid and
we have 2 more lessons tonight so the works going
good. most of our work is through the members
thats how missionary work is supposed to be we
do the teaching and the members do the finding
but the members up here are awesome they give
us refferells every day and always feeding us
and everything we dont do much tracting at all.
there are 5 wards in st johns that we cover 2
building and they are all pretty good sized
wards like 200 at the most and 75 at the least.

update...
No pictures yet, but here is an update from garr's last
email...yeah the mountains are rather enjoyable. everyone
here is really cool and awesome i have met some crazy
people my 3 favorite people roger who is the custodian
at the high school he lets us come to school in the
morning and play basketball he is an awesome guy then
there is EKwho is a mexican with a sweet mustache and
has had an incedible life of gang banging and all that
stuff but hehas been a member for about a year now and
is one of the funniest guys i have ever met then there
is Darrell who is one of the only black men in the area
and he isnt a member but he knows everything about the
church and he just says he inst ready for babtism but
whatever he is cool he used to be really wealthy because
he did prop work and leather work for pirates of the
carribean and pearl harbor so he is going to teach us
how to do some leather work im going to make a scrip
case and stuff but this area is really neat i have only
had one lesson but we have 2 more tonight so the work is
a little slow but thats just how it is up here oh yeah
we had a babtism too the first week i was here so that
was cool even though i didnt really do anything but she
was awesome and so excited so that was really neat the
members here are so amazing too they care so much about
us and do so much missionary work for themselves its
really cool but yesterday was p day and it
was fun we went to the temple snowflake it was pretty
cool temple but there is a house right next to it so that
was kinda weird and then we went golfing as a district and
that was really fun and free and i got sunburned
pretty bad but its kind of funny becuase now i have some
gnarly tan lines but whatever it was really fun and my
district is really cool. but im doing really
well and enjoying st johns i love everyone Elder Knaphus

Elder Knaphus in the MTC

Here is Elder Knaphus on May 14th when he entered the MTC. We don't have pictures of him there yet, but here is a little from his first letter...it was a long one because he is only writing on his p-days.
"It's been an amazing day! Started it off with an interview withe MTC Pres. to get a new recommend because I lost my wallet! Had a really good time at the temple after I arrived back to the dorm and was gathering my laundry I found my wallet. So weird. I strongly believe it was the Lord's work. So now it's weird having money again. I'm doing fantastic. I think I could walk away right now and get a masters degree at Harvard if I wanted I have learned so much but study, pray and listen to the spirit!!! I love everyone and hate the Jazz."
