Jan 28 email

hello things are going good this week so you didn't get an email from me last week? that is strange i sent one but the computers were acting up so... maybe it didn't send. yes i did get the package finally haha. it was awesome got some good ties the Utah shirt is awesome! and i don't know if my comp would wear one but you can send one if you would like and the chocolate reeses bars are delicious greatest candy bar ever and the oil viles are appreciated thank you so much. im lookin forward to the next one. that is fun that you euro trip is coming along it sounds like you are going to have some fun. i cant wait tell i can go again someday i can barely remember what we saw and did or even were we went. that is not good that you have a cold that is no fun one of the elders i live with has a cold right now its pretty bad. i dont know if i told you about him he is a funny guy from Florida he reminds me of elder beasley who would come to our house funny southerner from the woods. that should be interesting to see what happens with the new coach i agree hopefully they dont keep the assistants around you should mention to have nicoll be a coach. that is wild riley is growing im sure he will be bigger than me when i get home and dont i get to see his senior yr of football that will be sweet. thats is cool that dad is having that big exhibit i would like to see some pics or something that would be cool and who is going to be there. but speaking of meeting people i get to meet elder l tom perry friday he is coming down and visiting speaking to the mission so that will be super cool. but everything is going really good here. we have a baptism Saturday the 78 yr olds they had their baptismal intv the other night and it went really well and everything should go great and everyone else that we are teaching are progressing but not as fast as we want it kind of sucks you wish the would just accept it because they have already felt the spirit they just dont want to commit but i guess its understandable its a life changer but we are finding new people everyday and hopefully we will find someone who is ready. something on the crazy note we received 5 50lb bags of ties the other day so that is a ridiculous amount of ties that are in our appt right now i will take some funny pics but we had a big draft and i got about 20 good ties so that was cool i think that is all i can think about to report on i will see if i can write a letter home today or tomorrow for the newsletter but i love you thank you for everything.

email from Jan 21

hello father how are you doing.
its seems all is well. im doing grand.
it is way too hot for jan yesterday it was
81 degrees i cant even fathum winter right
now but its over cast today so i will stop
complaining we are hoping for rain. but
everything is going really good. i dont
know if you heard but the 78 yr olds are
on date for the 31st and everyone else is
doing good. we have been able to contact
a lot of people that we have been trying to
contact and got lessons set up so hopefully some
good come out of those. we had a good lesson
last night with an investigator in the seniors
branch her husband is a member and she isnt and
we have taught quite a bit but they are a
little stand off ish but last night they expressed
the want to be sealed so we going to see what we
can do there most likely get her babtized this
transfer. and all the other people are still
progressing working with their concerns and everything
there is a pretty big push just to be bold with our
investagors and get them babtized but its really
hard cuz you dont want to be overbearing but it
works on another cool note though we have an
apostle coming to our mission elder l tom perry
he is going to talk to a few missions in the
area and he is also meeting with the stake pres
and bishops and all the ward missionaries so
everyone should be really pumped on missionary
work so the year of 09 is going to be sweet but
yeah my comp goes home feb 11 so thats pretty
crazy but everything is going well makes me
happy to hear milsap is tearin it up i wish i
could see but oh well thanks for the everything
enjoy your week.

Pictures from St. Johns

Leslie hasn't posted pics for awhile and since we just got another batch I (mandy) thought I would put all the ones on from his area in St. Johns and get caught up. We will get all these on and then post new ones from Mesa. Garr's email was really short this week and they were turning off the power in the building so he couldn't write but he did say that the 78 year olds set a date for the 31st of the month. When I find the list of what these pictures it will be posted, but until then just enjoy seeing photos...

St. Johns Pictures

Garr with an Arizona drink, but what is that shirt? Pretty sure this is at a bonfire for his comp burning a tie but those pictures won't upload it says they are corrupt.
This is the garage of the ward mission leader and all the missionaries sign their name

I do know that this is his apartment and his pool table that he used to have before it got taken away. Note the snake in the background, that's a nice touch!
I think this was Garr's ward mission leader in st. johns

hello hows it going in the snow i miss it so much man its 60 degrees here but. yeah it was really cool to go to breakfast with the jones they are a awesome family. HOW ABOUT THEM UTES man i couldnt be happier about that. it was amazing. i got to watch pretty much the whole thing so.. i dont know if its worth sending it to me but.. thats good that you guys still go to the gym its nice we have our own gym here. but that is also nice church starts at 11 that is a perfect time we are at church from 8 to 4 its pretty rough. we just use the computers in the steak center to email. but things are going here everyone is still doing good working forward no one is on date currently but it will come soon picked up a crazy biker gang dude and his wife that were teaching tonight thats the most exciting news. his trailer smells so bad we have to shower afterwards and he has cats that are half bobcat its pretty crazy he has spent over 9 yrs in prison but he is really religious so hopefully we can do some spiritual convincing. i cant think of much else to say but i love you and enjoy another week of the cold delight!
